Using our 1200 lb diamond grinder, we made 4 passés in a cross-hatch style to not only give the customer a proper surface in order for the epoxy to bond to, but to give them a smoother garage. Our Leonidas grinder has 4 grinding heads with 3 sets of diamonds on each, gong in a planetary motion creating an aggressive diamond grinding activity. Hooked directly to our Pulse Vac vacuum, very little dust escapes creating a clean jobsite from start to finish.

We get asked about preparations for concrete and if there is a difference between diamond grinding and acid etching... this photo below should answer that question...

Once the floor is all prepped via Diamond Grinding and all taped up... it’s time to get the epoxy and flakes down. At this point, all repairs have been made, the concrete is like brand new and has a scratch pattern in it to help the epoxy bond even more to the floor. This is why we grind versus acid etching inside. The benefits are huge and a professional epoxy applicator will have the equipment and know what they are doing. Like the old saying goes... Preparation is 90% of the game. But when combined with commercial grade epoxy, the best system and seal coats... all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the conversion and more importantly... the many, many, many years of durable performance that you will get from one of our professionally applied epoxy flake systems.

Epoxy flooring, unlike other types of floors, lack fissures, edges, and seams. Because epoxy flooring are one huge surface, cleaning dirt and debris from them is as simple as sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping the floor. Furthermore, because epoxy flooring have no corners, there is minimal room for mould and germs to thrive.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. When you protect your concrete with an epoxy system or maybe I should say a fluid applied system, there are no seams to go bad. No edges to lift, just a completely sealed, durable, long lasting floor.

Prepping the floor properly and using the best materials is what gets you long lasting results. And one more thing… when done by a professional, you get professional results. We have invested a ton of money into equipment to prep your floors bc we understand that the end result is dictated by the preparation at the beginning.
